On 25 July 2025, Ukrainian participants shared their reflections on what it means to live near a border in times of conflict and peace. The discussion revealed a shared emotional reality marked by danger, but also a clear vision of hope rooted in cooperation, education, and cultural understanding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
All participants agreed that for Ukrainians, living next to an aggressor country<\/strong> means constant stress, fear, and uncertainty<\/strong>. They described life under the threat of shelling and violence<\/strong>, where people live in a state of permanent alertness<\/strong>, unable to make long-term plans<\/strong> or feel secure about the future. This sense of instability has reshaped how many Ukrainians view borders\u2014not as geographical lines, but as zones of tension and survival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n At the same time, they recognized that living next to peaceful countries<\/strong> brings entirely different opportunities<\/strong>: multicultural experiences, travel, and relative safety<\/strong>. Participants saw these borders as gateways to learning and cooperation<\/strong>, where people, ideas, and cultures<\/strong> can meet and grow together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n When reflecting on what hinders cooperation, participants pointed to political and historical conflicts<\/strong>, as well as differences in culture and religion<\/strong>. They also mentioned aggression and provocations<\/strong>, which often prevent constructive dialogue and deepen divisions between nations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Despite these challenges, the group found common ground in a shared conviction: the next generation must be educated in the spirit of understanding and peace<\/strong>. They unanimously agreed that youth need guidance and dialogue on the importance of cooperation between neighbouring countries<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Their dream project<\/strong> was therefore simple but powerful \u2014 a multicultural education initiative<\/strong>.
