On 13 May 2025, young people in Romania shared their views on the advantages and challenges of living near a border, discussing everyday realities, cooperation needs, and imaginative ideas for the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Several participants viewed life near a border as an opportunity<\/strong>, noting that goods can be transported more easily<\/strong>and are sometimes cheaper in neighboring countries<\/strong>. They appreciated the convenience of faster border crossings<\/strong> for shopping, work, or travel and said that border life helps people understand cultural and lifestyle differences<\/strong> between countries. For many, living near a border broadens horizons<\/strong>, offering access to opportunities from both sides while remaining close to home<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Others, however, pointed out disadvantages such as heavy traffic<\/strong>, price differences<\/strong>, slow customs procedures<\/strong>, and even risks of smuggling or illegal trade<\/strong>. Some mentioned that variations in laws and regulations<\/strong> can complicate everyday life in border regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n When asked about areas where cooperation is most needed<\/strong>, participants emphasized improving infrastructure<\/strong>, particularly paving roads in both towns and villages<\/strong>. They also highlighted the importance of safe playgrounds for children<\/strong>, better schools and hospitals<\/strong>, and public spaces<\/strong> where people can gather for events, such as parks or community venues<\/strong>. Environmental protection, waste management<\/strong>, public transport development<\/strong>, and job creation for young people<\/strong> were also seen as key priorities requiring local and cross-border collaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n During the discussion on dream projects<\/strong>, the answers reflected both creativity and ambition.
