{"id":269,"date":"2025-10-08T14:05:49","date_gmt":"2025-10-08T14:05:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/yodec.rotineret.ro\/?p=269"},"modified":"2025-10-08T14:06:11","modified_gmt":"2025-10-08T14:06:11","slug":"22-may-2025-youth-consultation-in-the-republic-of-moldova","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/yodec.rotineret.ro\/index.php\/2025\/10\/08\/22-may-2025-youth-consultation-in-the-republic-of-moldova\/","title":{"rendered":"22 May 2025 \u2013 Youth Consultation in the Republic of Moldova"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the consultation held on 22 May 2025 in the Republic of Moldova, young people explored both the opportunities and challenges of living near a border, discussed the areas that require stronger cooperation, and proposed creative solutions for improving local life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Participants identified several&nbsp;<strong>opportunities<\/strong>&nbsp;associated with living near a border:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the possibility to\u00a0<strong>cooperate with more developed countries<\/strong>\u00a0to advance progress, technology, and national development;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>direct communication and cultural exchange<\/strong>\u00a0with people from other regions;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>cross-border cooperation<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>social and economic aid<\/strong>, and\u00a0<strong>a stronger pathway toward European integration<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, they also acknowledged\u00a0<strong>disadvantages<\/strong>, noting that proximity to a\u00a0<strong>less developed or conflict-affected country<\/strong> can pose\u00a0<strong>serious threats to citizens and infrastructure<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When reflecting on the&nbsp;<strong>areas where cooperation is most needed<\/strong>, young people mentioned&nbsp;<strong>schools<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>volunteer organizations<\/strong>\u2014spaces where communication between individuals happens daily and where collaboration is key to building a common understanding within the community. They cited&nbsp;<strong>Cycle Region<\/strong>&nbsp;as an example of a useful Interreg project, given the heavy traffic in their area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As main obstacles to cooperation, participants pointed to&nbsp;<strong>intentional alienation<\/strong>&nbsp;based on religion, ethnicity, or race, as well as&nbsp;<strong>political conflicts and wars<\/strong>, which deepen divisions and hinder progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Their \u201cdream project,\u201d titled&nbsp;<strong>\u201cRevitalizing the Public Transport System,\u201d<\/strong>&nbsp;aims to&nbsp;<strong>reduce traffic congestion<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>improve public transportation<\/strong>&nbsp;in the city through concrete measures such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>installing\u00a0<strong>smart traffic lights<\/strong>\u00a0that adapt to real-time traffic flow,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>creating\u00a0<strong>dedicated trolleybus lanes<\/strong>,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>raising fines<\/strong>\u00a0for violations of public transport rules, and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>introducing\u00a0<strong>modern, eco-friendly trolleybus models<\/strong>\u00a0to make urban mobility more efficient and sustainable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>During the consultation held on 22 May 2025 in the Republic of Moldova, young people explored both the opportunities and challenges of living near a border, discussed the areas that require stronger cooperation, and proposed creative solutions for improving local life.
