As part of the consultations held in the Republic of Moldova, including rural areas, young people discussed the challenges and opportunities of living near a border, their views on cross-border cooperation, and their dreams for future projects.<\/p>\n
Participants shared that living near a border is an advantage<\/strong>, as it provides a higher level of security against smuggling and armed forces. However, they also highlighted the lack of infrastructure<\/strong> for leisure activities and youth initiatives, as well as the migration of young people<\/strong> to larger cities in search of a better life. These issues contribute to rural areas being overlooked and underfunded.<\/p>\n When asked about useful Interreg projects, young people mentioned DEBUTING<\/strong>, TAAS<\/strong>, and DIGITALIZE<\/strong>. Regarding daily difficulties in (cross-border and transnational) cooperation, they pointed out language barriers<\/strong>, limited yearly budgets for maintaining a decent life<\/strong>, and the lack of employment opportunities<\/strong> in villages such as Iabloana.<\/p>\n The \u201cdream project\u201d proposed by the participants focused on using Iabloana\u2019s archaeological potential<\/strong> to enrich its historical and cultural heritage and renovating the local museum<\/strong> as a means to boost tourism in the community.<\/p>\n The consultation ended with the powerful words of a local French teacher:<\/p>\n \u201cWe are forgotten compared to the other villages.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n [\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][\/et_pb_section]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" As part of the consultations held in the Republic of Moldova, including rural areas, young people discussed the challenges and opportunities of living near a border, their views on cross-border cooperation, and their dreams for future projects.
