As part of the ongoing youth consultations in the Republic of Moldova, young participants shared their views on cross-border cooperation, local challenges, and the projects they would like to see implemented in their communities.
The group agreed that living near a border is an advantage, as it ensures a higher level of security for the residents. When discussing key areas for cooperation, participants identified ecology, governance, security, and community initiatives as the main priorities for their region.
Among the Interreg projects known to them, young people mentioned DEBUTING, SPOTLOG, and MILEStone. However, they also noted language and opinion differences, as well as poor infrastructure, as daily barriers to cross-border and transnational cooperation.
Their “dream project” would focus on addressing essential local problems while laying the foundations for sustainable development—for example, an ecological initiative designed to increase citizens’ responsibility for managing street waste.
